Mold and Casting



Hi everyone! today i going to talk about the casting and mold making 


This semester, I am in complementary workshop classes. Here we work making molds of different materials to copy or reproduce an object or a figure, some are plaster, silicone, ballistic gel, alginate, resins, etc.


This is my last year and since the beginning of my career i wanted to take this class. I like sculpture and sculpting figures.


I am currently focusing my study on models and textures, studying painting has helped me to occupy the color in a better way and generate more realistic spaces. Thanks to the mold and casting workshop, I am modeling the miniatures for my models and I can make copies of them. It is much easier to build a single object and be able to reproduce it as many times as I need.


I hate online classes a lot, at home I don't have all the materials or enough space to enjoy the workshop :( but the teacher is excellent and cares about teaching as much as possible, in the first year, we did some exercises in this workshop and it was  very complicated but at the same time very beautiful experience, I love the mold and casting processes

  I think that art has affected the world even before it was called art, art has defined cultures and historical moments, currently art is a market, working and making money with art is fine but as long as the cultural elite exists, the earnings will always be from the same artists, the field of art, economically speaking, is only for those who have contacts I do not study art precisely to exhibit in galleries or museums, I study painting because I like it, maybe I will not have a stable job and my economy will always low but I am sure that only then I can live happily, I would like living teaching painting or continue tattooing when the pandemic is over. Why i am studying this?

 Hi everyone! how are you today? Now i will write about my major and a little story of my studies.  When I was a mini chris my dream was to be a garbage collector, even so far i like to see how they ride tha back of the truck but now i think about the smell and not! jajaja is not a great work, i really respect to garbage collector's, is a work so complicated and hard, also, i  thought about being a hairdresser but my family said that this work is for "girls" :c this was sad to me but i think that they was really wrong but i don´t hate them for this.  when i had 18 years old, i forgot postulate to the university! yes, i am very clueless. The next year i entered to Architecture in the Universidad de Chile, here i met a visuals arts teacher, i liked how she think about the life, the landscapes, the cities, she had a very different point of view from the other teachers about the architecture. Who i am?

 Hi everyone! my name is Christopher William Riquelme Garrido i was born in October 8, 1997 in Santiago, Chile.  I always went to the same school, CEMLAP in the commune of Pedro Aguirre Cerda, in 2017. i entered to Architecture in Universidad de Chile but my real interest was the visuals arts, in 2018 i started with the new career. Actually i am in 4th year, studying paiting. i am really sure that this is my way  💗 2015 was a really complicated year for me, my father George fell ill with cancer, he died in March 2016, now i am living with my mather Purísima and my sister Karina, i have two more sisters, Yarella and Valeska and my brother Frank.  I like do a lot of things, i like paint with oil and watercolors, i love the colors. i am always listening music with my earphones also i play the guitar in my free time, i listen bands like pearl jam, alice in chains, the cure and others.
